Introduction to Android

Android is an operating system mainly for smartphones but now we can find Android everywhere like in Tab, Television, Watches, Car, etc. Android is not a language but it is a rich application Framework that allows us to develop innovative apps and games for any devices supported by Android and Java and Kotlin are two development languages for android. Kotlin is an official programming language introduce by Google on 2017. Android is developed by Open Handset Alliance led by Google. Google owner of Android. Android uses Linux as it's Kernel (basic development language) and it's an Open Source Operating System. In Android, tools needed for App development is freely available on the web they allows every to work as a App developer. Special virtual machine is use for run an App called Calvin virtual machine. Google Play Stopre allows us Tum make our app available for the users it also allows us to earn with it by placing ads on app or by monthly active users.


For the Android development we going to use Android studio with Java programming language.

PC and laptop requirement to install Android studio


Windows


• Microsoft Windows 7/8/10 (32- or 64-bit)
• 3 GB RAM minimum, 8 GB RAM recommended; plus 1 GB for the Android Emulator.
• 2 GB of available disk space minimum, 4 GB Recommended (500 MB for IDE + 1.5 GB for Android SDK and emulator system image)
• 1280 × 800 minimum screen resolution


Mac


• Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) or higher, up to 10.13 (MarcOS High Sierra )
• 3 GB RAM minimum, 8 GB RAM recommended; plus 1 GB for the Android Emulator.
• 2 GB of available disk space minimum, 4 GB Recommended (500 MB for IDE + 1.5 GB for Android SDK and emulator system image)
• 1280 × 800 minimum screen resolution


Linux


• GNOME or KDE desktop
Tested on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, Trusty Tahr (64-bit distribution capable of running 32-bit application)
• 64-bit distribution capable of running 32-bit application
• GNU C Library (glibc) 2.19 or later
• 3 GB RAM minimum, 8 GB RAM recommended; plus 1 GB for the Android Emulator
• 2 GB of available disk space minimum, 4 GB Recommended (500 MB for IDE + 1.5 GB for Android SDK and emulator system image)
• 1280 × 800 minimum screen resolution


Components required to install for Android development.


1) Java Kevelopment Kit (JDK)


i) Click here to download.


ii) Install the JDK in your pc or laptop.



2) Android Studio


i) Click here to download Android studio.


ii) Install Android studio it may take long time.


iii) Make sure that your internet connection is good because it will further download some file while installing.

iv) After Install Android Studio set it up according to your requirement. Here to some files will be download so make sure your internet connection is strong.


After complete installing you will get welcome page of Android studio.
