Hello! And welcome students. This post is for those students studying in 12th or 12th passed out, who are thinking to become a CA or traying to find the what to do after 12th. So, why CA and what is a CA is the firs question that comes under a student’s mind.
So, what is a CA (Chartered Accountant)
CA is an art of dealing with the
field of Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Information Technology, Merger and Acquisition,
Credit analyst, Governance and many more.
Why you should go for a CA (Chartered Accountant)
CA is a highly designated authorized
profession, with high demand and stability, High profitable job opportunity,
high pay scale and lot of opportunity in private and as will as government
sector. And more important you want to become a CA.
Stages to become a CA
The first and most important stage
is to get registered under the program of ICAI (Institute of CharteredAccountants of India). The study materials are provided by the ICAI only.
Students have to follow the guide line given by the ICAI.
Then, there are mainly 4 stages to become a CA. The complete process takes the minimum 4.5years to complete the CA course.
- Foundation Course (It takes 4 months)
- Intermediate Course (It takes 8 months)
- Practical Training / Articleship (It take 3 year)
- CA Finals
CA Foundation Course
The CA Foundation Course is an
entrance level for the Chartered Accountant course in India. The students appearing
in 12th board exam or cleared the 12th exam can register them self
for the Foundation Course. Under this course there are 4 subjects and to clear the
test students have to score 40% in each subject and 50% aggregate. The exam of CA
Foundation Course held in May and November.
The subjects come under the Foundation Course are,
- Principles and Practices of Accounting (subjective question paper in exam)
- Business lows and Business Correspondence and Reporting. (subjective question paper in exam)
- Business Mathematics and logical Reasoning & statistics. (objective question paper in exam)
- Business Economics & Business and commercial Knowledge. (objective question paper in exam)
CA Intermediate Course
The CA Intermediate Course is a
second level exam for the Chartered Accountant course in India. Students
cleared the CA Foundation Course can register for the CA Intermediate Course.
It has divided into two groups, group 1 has 4 subjects and group 2 also have 4
subjects. Students can appear in either one group or both group at a same time.
To clear the test, students have to score 40% in each subject and 50% aggregate.
The subjects come under the Foundation Course are,
- Accounting
- Corporate and other Laws
- Cost and Management Accounting
- Taxation
- Advance Accounting
- Auditing and Assurance
- Enterprise Information System and Strategic Management
- Financial Management and Economics for Finance
Practical Training / Articleship
Practical Training is the most
important part of the Chartered Accountant course. It is a 3-year training done
after clearing group one or both group exam of CA intermediate course. It done
under the guidance of any professional Chartered Accountant.
It is important because it helps the student to become experienced, knowledgeable and well-rounded professional.
CA Finals
The CA Final exam is the last level
exam for the Chartered Accountant in India. In last 6 month of Practice Training
students can register for the CA Finals. It has divided into two groups, group
1 has 4 subjects and group 2 also have 4 subjects. Students can appear in either
one group or both group at a same time. To clear the test, students have to
score 40% in each subject and 50% aggregate.
The subjects come under the Foundation Course are, (on the basses of 2019 CA final exam)
- Financial Reporting (subjective questions, 100 marks)
- Strategic Financial Management (subjective questions, 100 marks)
- Advanced Auditing & professional Ethics (70% subjective questions, 30% objective questions, 100 marks)
- Corporate & Economic Law (70% subjective questions, 30% objective questions, 100 marks)
- Strategic Cost Management and Performance Evaluation (subjective questions, 100 marks)
- Elective Paper (chosen from a list) (subjective questions, 100 marks)
- Direct Tax law & international Taxation (70% subjective questions, 30% objective questions, 100 marks)
- Indirect Tax Laws (70% subjective questions, 30% objective questions, 100 marks)
Some Tips
- Never leave your college on the basses of this course.
- First clear both the Group of CA Intermediate then go for the Practical Training.
- Be regular in studies and maintain minimum 5-hour studies.
- Never lose hope! After all you want to become CA Chartered Accountant.
