New Sketch | Not Good in Portraits Sketch | My way to Improve Portraits Sketch

New Sketch

By:- sptrop
Hello friends I'm back with another sketch. This time I tried to keep things simple as last time I was kind a get messed up, but it's really looks kind a bit empty. I will may tray, few things with it later. I completed this piece in just one day, unlike my previous one (3 days) but I get messed up as well, especially with her face. I really think I have a long way to go with faces specially while drawing a whole body portrait. I don't understand! When I practiced face in parts they came out pretty well, but when I put all together I get messed up. Even in this sketch I don't know how many time I redraw the face, but still, it's not even near to be good. Only off thing I can tell about my sketch is its face.

My Planes To Improve Portraits

I have decided to learn only faces for next 30 days But the question is how and from where I can learn. Being a self learning artist is itself a challenge. Basically, I want to say, I have no one to tell my mistakes or tell me what could better my artwork. This problem, I can't overcome, but I believe that this makes me unique as well. Keeping this in mind, I thinking to take some guidelines from YouTube then I will try to mold it in my style of artwork. I will also do some re-sketching of some of my favorite creatures, but those I may or may not post on social media.

I have planed to practice only guidelines for next 10-15 days and then I will complete my 30 days with practicing full faces. As I think I have already practiced a lot with individual parts, therefor I will be going for the whole face in this entire process.

Result

I will make sure to update the result here or I will provide the link of that blog here. Lets wait for the result and see what happens.

It's been 17 days of my challenge and I have basically practice front and side profile only on my first week I just searched a lot of videos or reference from where I can learn. Basically, I wasted My lot of time there and then I find one video who was telling the proper basics and then I decided to practice the anatomy in week days and make sketches of that anatomy in a weekend.

The Video I Found

Week 1

On week one I started with the front face profile anatomy and I think that was easy I won't get any trouble with that  a weekend I searched for some reference in pexels.com and draw this. I think it turned out good. I'm happy with my progress if I compare it to my past self what do you think.

Final Sketch

I was having my semester exam so I wasn't able to practice the face structure much, but after the exam I did practice some and I'm ending it here. In this process I really get to learn a lot of things and by the end, I don't mean that I won't practice anymore, I still need to perfect my lots of things but I'm finishing my challenge here. Now I may practice few different stiles or medium. To stay updated keep in touch with me in my social media.
